I am infinite

Hi, sorry if I rarely post here. I'm currently in a busy state (as if). But I noticed that I can't resist myself from writing every time I feel good or some pleasant things happened to me. As usual I blog about my personal life, which I'm still trying not to. LOL.

Anyway, I already missed posting a lot of things happened and I found interesting. Recap please? Ok.

• Including in my series of unfortunate events was the thing that happened to my laptop, I need to replace my hard disc and it happened on the brink of my thesis deadline. Luckily, Hans helped me, in both providing laptops and helping me to do my paper. (we even did a pose of our couple shirt, lol. XD)
• While concentrating on my deadline, Papa suddenly been called for his work. He's a seaman that is based on different parts of the world. Sigh. I miss him. (papa and mama at the airport)
• I'm starting my business now, yay! (this shoes are not for sale)
• Currently helping Ag for her thesis that is due this coming Saturday. (love her post its)
• Sar is getting prettier. Is this how working girls turn into? :D (Notice, In, the cat at the background)
• Hans and I tried Sophie's mom cupcakes, because my x and also a friend now is working here as a chef. And it's delicious! (Yeah I'm plugging, so thank me. :)))
• We had a field trip for Housing class. (Bilibid to Portofino to Bonifacio Global City)

And today is our 27th months, yeah I know we shouldn't get too excited in counting. I'm just sharing, ok?

 We watched Perks of being a wallflower, I love Emma and now I'm liking Logan. ehheeh, he quite reminds me of David Archuleta on his act as Charlie. <3

 But while waiting for Perks, we ate first at Hans fave donut shop.

Also, today I had my first meet up for my business, I actually felt mixed emotions, from kilig to kaba. LOL. I just do hope my buyer liked what she bought. >.<

Ok back to work.

Before working, here are some small reviews bout the book and the film: "Perks of being a wallflower"

Book: While reading I thought it was just an ordinary diary made by a kid. But at the last part of the book, suddenly I understood the main character, wherein I had flash backs of his letters reflecting what I have read etc and connecting with the revelation I learned.

Film: I admit that I'll be biased with this statement due to I already read the book before watching the film. As the usual dilemma of book turned into film, you'll get too particular of your personal fave scenes that has been excluded in the film. But still the overall filmography is beyond on what I've imagined. I love the vintage and hipster look of the setup, characters, clothes, acting, etc. I'm a 90's kid lol. :D

Summer Updates!

So what's up with me? It's been so looooooooooong since I created my last post. There are so many exciting and unexpected things that had happened to me. Tehee, so how should I start?

• Mom went to province and left me home alone for more than a week, I invited my friends to stay with me overnight, except for the days I have class. So for the first day my UP friends (Camille and Claire) stayed for a night.

For the second night, my UST friends (Sar and Ag) joined me. Those two nights were spent with non-stop stories, fortune telling, criticism, etc. It was fun to invite them over. :)

The next nights I stay alone, it was creepy yet exciting. I love the feeling that I can do anything (Oooooohw) without my mom's annoying shout, lol joke, but I still missed mama's irritating errands at those lonely times, haahha.

• I also had taken my last Math series subject, and finally Math and Physics "majors" are over! Woo! I love it! Along with my summer class I did my 160 hours internship for TAO and yesterday was our culminating activity aka graduation. I'll miss it, if only I'll just stop studying and proceed to apprenticeship. Maybe those working buds won't agree with me, but I love to work, I really leaned a lot in office than in school. XD

• After so many years I dipped in the pool with my YP peeps (Sarah, Tina, Mhar, Russel, Cris and Glenn), ah! The water was really my element though I'm not a good swimmer but it made me so refreshed this hot season.

• And of course will I forget the biggest event for my summer, second to my internship, is the epitome-of-a-total-performer's concert, Lady Gaga's monster ball! She was really the mother of all monsters!

• SMALL GALAs: CR gals (Abby and RI) visited me at home, those week while mom's gone, I didn't see them for a year and unfortunately Kim wasn't able to come, I really miss them all, I can still feel our strong bond every time we are together, I hope we 5 could meet soon, including Kat whose in states. hehe

Also after a long time Van and I were able to see each other, it was fun to catch up with one's "love" lives, while eating a delicious dinner with Sar. We even discovered a newly exciting game FOR US LATE BLOOMERS, the ultimate dance dance revo, we're planning to make it as a career. :)) 

Yesterday with some of my YP friends, we went to a Karaoke house and sing our hearts out. :))

• MOVIES: I also watched the avengers with my future in-laws ^_^ and Dark Shadows with Hans. At home I also discovered that I have "Ballet shoes" with one of the main actress is my fave British celeb, Emma Watson.
• BOOKS: Still not done with reading Frank Lloyd Wright's bio since I've been hooked with the strangeness of Emily the Strange.
• GAMES: At the first weeks of summer I'm addicted with GTA: Vice City but then I've been introduced again by my fave GameBoy game, Pokemon, now with the new set of monsters, ah! I can feel how old I'm now.
• SERIES: I finished Secret Circle, sorry for the fans, but yeah it's *yawn......and skins, I liked it, sex and drugs are part of a teen's life, I can't believe I'm watching the reality. Of course second season of Game of Thrones are now airing, geez, can't wait for every ep. now that hotness Natalie Domer's their.

And now blogging till dusk is back, though my net connection is not really everyday, we're having a budget cut, eek! That's also the reason why I miss the supposedly 3rd event of my summer, this year's Philippines Fashion week, call me mababaw but it was really what I'm aiming for, Unica Hija sent me their invitation, I don't know if it was really exclusive, but as an assuming being, I believe it. ahahah, too bad I'm born with a tin spoon in my mouth. :O

I'm looking forward to:

2. new school year

2 more weeks before Summer

2 exams, 4 subject to be credit, 2 papers, 1 plate and 1 model and this semester will end. Yeah a little bit more pain for a lil bit of fun to come. Coz Summer doesn't mean rest for me, I need to take up another Calculus subject (crying) and finish my internship. :O

Last Friday I had my mini thesis deliberation, and I realized it was my first time to present solo in UP, and it was a so-so for me, better than crying. lol.

I also watched the Hunger Games later that day, I can say that it was good though I have read the book and their was a few moments that I'm searching for some scenes to show up (like more kissing scenes, hehehe). But over all I liked the futuristic portrayal of the scenes, it was beyond than what I have imagined. Love the movie and I'm excited to read and watch the 2nd & 3rd installments.

In relation to excitement, I'm also looking forward for the next season of Game of Thrones, gasp! I just learned that Natalie Dormer(acted Anne Boleyn in The Tudors) will be an important character in Season 2. AH! April 1 should come right away.

What I'm up to

• Watched Merlin about a month ago, my dream to follow the old ways has been revived.
• Game of thrones introduced to me by my UP friends and copies given by Hans. I'm still not done with the first season but Khaleesi (Daenerys) and Arya are my fave (so far).
• Alex, my roommate, lend me two Japanese novels, one is "The diving pool" by Yoko Ogawa, with 2 other stories, all hang ended, you'll definitely be mentally challenged.
• Tried reading the Hunger games out of curiosity to understand what people were fussing about,  and I can't wait to read the 2nd and watch the movie. But still not a fan.
• The 2nd book Alex lend me, "Kitchen" by Banana Yoshimoto, currently in progress.
• Lovely, that I've been dreading to watch this just after it's been aired but I lack perseverance to dl or have no opportunity to watch it on TV. So again lovely, because luckily I was able to watch the marathon in ETC last Sunday. I'll give effort to watch it now, I can relate to this 2 broke girls, obviously.

I also turned this notebook into my fashion and style inspirations sketch book, yay! Hopefully I can fill it up with relative and useful sketches. 

Fashion is not my thing, but I want to be passionate about it.

Next, i have a part time hobby to read one's future. Disclaimer, I'm not an expert, just for the sake of having fun and giving joy to people I'm using my goody old friend Sakura cards. :)) And gained the name Cardcaptor Lapastora. LOL

Cheesy, Psycho, Thai

One night while I'm narrating to my roommates my Archuleta experience, Georgia mentioned about this book by Bob Ong entitled "Lumayo ka nga sa akin", criticizing Philippines' entertainment industry. This is an eye opener on why this industry of ours lost its value because while reading the book I didn't notice that in between humorous lines you'll realize that it was actually true, it's really funny in a sense that you'll get disappointed why Filipino entertainment today end up this way. The aftereffect is I become observant with the local programs I watch on TV.

  Next, I was able to watched 3 movies for the past 2 weeks, it's my little way of distressing or maybe just my excuse to be lazy with my school works. First is the "Love of Siam" and "Friendship" both lead by Mario Maurer (Thai actor), I'm not one of his many fans here, but many youngsters and some old folks know him because of a sudden wide spread of his film called a lil thing called love (still my favorite among his movies), so maybe that's the main reason his other films also prevails.

Love of Siam is a story of two guys that fell in love with each other at a young age, yes from the day before their adolescence period and its too young to know one self's identity. I just realized maybe that's why a lot of third sex already knew that they don't belong in the first two sexes even though they try hard to do what the conservative minds called the "right thing". They just know it by heart and with some little help from their childhood sweethearts friends. :)

Friendship is a film about friends and love? Well, I'm sorry for the fans of this film but I think it has a lame story, though I can say that the female lead is really a pretty one.

And lastly is the "Silence of the Lamb", I thought it would be boring and I don't have any idea what this movie is all about, but it was a mind boggling film. Kudos to Anthony Hopkins for playing the character of Dr. Lecter well.

Christmas 2011

Christmas day had passed, this was pretty fast huh. We'll next wait for 2012, a new year to come.

So what did I do for Christmas day? I finished cleaning my closet, and these is all I can do. gah.

 It took me some time to fix all these up because I'm busy doing other things.

Actually, those things we're not important like the mangas I've been reading lately.

"Need a girl" and "Cage of Eden". As I accidentally stumbled on one of a pop-up site. Thankfully it was not a virus. (but still be careful, my smartbro has been victimized) But those mangas are fun and exciting to read, especially the latter, I'm still not done till now. Pimples and acne are staying comfortably on my face, but I can't stop myself from reading.

Well the first is about a group of guys in high school students that wanted to have a girlfriend, well the usual, landian (chick flick) stories. The second are bout another group of students with some adults been trapped in an island as a horrible accident happened to them. There adventure were insane and mysterious, that's why I like it.

Back to my christmas day, I've been horrified with the large number of children caroling at night and begging for gifts at day. It was a frenzy. 

 We attend Misa de Gallo then spend the night waiting for Noche Buena at home, with, again, my mama, two dogs and seven cats.

 Mama cooked quiet a lot for the two of us. I made those refrigerated cakes on the lower left side. :D

I always do 6 cakes every year, 3 for Christmas and the other 3 for New Year. aahha. It was what only I can do, *sob. And my mom always complains how too sweet they are.

Also had quiet a treat. I'm full of sweetness, carbs and fats this holiday. I'm such a couch potato. Literally, staying at our sofa almost 17 hours a day. :O

More more for Pottermore

I'm so tensed when Hezel (my friend I'm with in David Archuleta post) tweeted me that he was already registered in Pottermore, and ate Lani (from DA post too) texted me that it was already closed. She mean for day 3, so I was like, "Damn! What am I doing?" So I hurried to our school library to gain access from our free wifi.

And there it is, "Day 3 registration is already closed. 7 books, 7 days, 7 chances. From July31 to Aug6." So from 1pm I waited for it to open, my instinct says that maybe they had considered British time, but it's already Day 4 in London. What the heck?

I waited. waited. waited. Attend to my 5pm-7pm Design class, waited again in the lib, go to my Boarding house, borrowed my roommate's modem. waited. waited with the pottermore-waiting-tumblr people. And by 1030pm, while reblogging some Big Bang theory's in tumblr, "Day 4 registration is now open!"

I hurried to answer the clue to the Magical Quill, Google chrome didn't cooperate because of Ad blah vlah settings, but thanks to Mozilla and Internet Explorer, I was able to hunt the Quill!!

It's been a long day

 It's been a long day today and today is Maroon5's concert in SMX. But I wasn't able to go there, and my post is not about them. Many things happen to me today, and first on my list is my-I-already-know-failing Calculus exam. It hurts to admit that you know you can't do anything to make your grades go higher. I just want to accept what really happened. And that happens for a reason.

And that reason is unknown, but the cause was so clear to me, I had taken for granted Calculus which is under my fave subject, Math. And yesterday was the fastest and worst day of my life, not because of doom's day, but because of unexpected extreme pains that happened to me, and it all started with a tooth ache.

A toothache that you should not ignore, because I never thought a tooth with no holes or anything could have an infection underneath or inside it I think. Which cause me to unbearable toothache, worsen by an uncooked popcorn kernel as I'm eating it while me and my boyfriend is watching the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean, on stranger tides" last Friday.

And yesterday, Sunday, my mom and I went to a Dentist and he did the procedure of root canal to me, which am very painful amidst of the 4 shots of anesthesia he had given me. It's so fucking painful.

Painful I thought would be my last for yesterday but I was wrong and as I had taken a pain reliever, gosh, I know I'm allergic to Ibuprufen but this Flanax med has given me the worst side effect, I'm palpitating too much, my eyes are sore and I thought my breathing could stop any time.

And my whole day reserved for time of studying for Calculus is occupied by my illness. And that resulted to my failed Calculus. I'm also timid to face my prof whom I planned to impress but instead depress. He gave as chocolates, so sweet of him, hope I have the guts to be friends with him and convince him to give me 3 in my final grade. But that is so impossible to happen. hahahaha

The second happening, I wait for my bestfriend, Abby, in a book store. So while waiting I read a book entitled, "Ang mga kaibigan ni Mama Susan" by Bob Ong, which is perfect for past time as you are waiting for a friend for about 2-3 hours. It is thin and easy to read for Filipinos because it's Tagalog and has large font for a small pocket book. With me secretly reading is a bunch of ladies whom so fond of reading Filipino pocket books all about love stories, yuck, which I can say nonsense. I'm not against Filipino literature; as a matter of fact I'm fond of Filipino authors with the sense of creativity and twist in their writings. Include among the best, the author gossip to be a group of people or a professor in my university, Bob Ong.

Bob Ong's "Mga kaibigan ni Mama Susan" is a thriller. Not to be noticed at first, because the book will introduce to you a typical guy in College, with heartache, teachers dilemma, peer pressure, family problem and hectic school works whom starting to write a nonsense journal. But as he reach the middle, the guy narrates what’s he's going through, as he let you show his deep emotional feelings. But the latter is getting to be complicated as he had gone back to his province with his weird grandmother. And then you can feel the creepiness of the story. But that part is getting boring, I must admit sorry, but this book mentions about the present situation of our world, regarding predictions of the end of the world, specifically the book of Revelations in the bible and the impact on people whom knows no God and the simplicity of a life with no technology, government and advancement which is really a stupid idea for me. This is just what my narrow mind comprehends. And as boredom ends and very near to the real end, more thrills but so unclear events are happening to the main character, all I know is it ended as if the guy has been under a demonic intervention and he started to write Latin prayers, repeated words etc. And the last line, pray for his soul as someone started to hug you.

Boom! And Abby and I went to Hans’ office for us to go to the airport together and have a last look with another bestfriend of ours, Kat.

Our dear bestfriend for 7 years is going to California. We will miss her so much, she whom always present to our meet ups, she whom cool and fashionable, she whom sweet, caring and so simple. She whom we love, even though we know it will be too long for us to meet again but I'm sure our friendship will never change.

Change for the better, change for the best, I don't know what my fast track life would struggle more but I'm the one who is in control here, I'll just accept challenges that gives color to my life. But I know He will always guide me no matter what. Don't believe in doom's day, just believe in Him.

Les Miserables and A. Flinn

Got a long weekend, I’m away from my summer classes for 5 days, but now is Sunday and it’s the last day, my plan of studying for our exam tomorrow for the first two days is ruined. Well, but I’m still satisfied, coz I was able to read two books, Beastly and A kiss in Time, both by Alex Flinn. Also watched a movie, Les Miserables, a Korean novelty, Running Man, and draw the one I posted yesterday. Simple as it seems but I quiet like my accomplishments, because I love to see myself doing stuffs that I think is worth my time. I love to draw and read books coz I really enjoys doing it. Though I ignored my Math 53(Calculus) homework and reviewers, still Sunday’s not over yet, so I promise that I’ll save this day for studying. Don’t want to get a low grade for my first exam.

Also got some emo-ish stuff here:

Sometimes we tend to imagine that our life is like the movies, when we cry a hero will come on our way to help us and save us from our misery. Literally will do anything for you just to make you laugh, but it's just plain stupidity. There's no such thing as perfect-hero-like-characters in our life. We are the only savior of our selves. And nobody care for you but you.

If misery comes your way, there's no sound of music that would enter the background, instead silence. Silent rush of winds and a little noise from your neighborhood.

Well, as a child, I used to cry my heart out just to get someone notice me and maybe comfort me, but there's no such kind of treatment was given to me. Instead a hit of hand will be given, if I would not stop. I still grew as a cry baby but learned that nobody would still sympathized for you if you just cry. They will pity you but later on annoyed so from that learning I tried to just cry alone on my own.

To cry alone is the safest, coz only you would understand yourself, and only you can comfort your own. No one would, no heroes, no anything, no one.

Well for some little review:

Les Miserables: I got it as influenced by my ultimate American Idol, David Archuleta, and watched it when I heard a familiar song sung by Susan Boyle played in background of Running man, with the subtitle from Les Miserables. I got curios and see for myself, well I got disappointed when I didn’t heard the song sung by Susan Boyle but I taught maybe it was only in theatrical play. Sigh. But well Les Miserables was a classic, love how the main character changed and became some man of dignity. He’s a strong character and wise I must say. I just don’t like the feeling that his problems won’t stop, it’s heavy in the heart you know, but it does give me non ending fear as I was watching it, but the last part was such a relieved.

Beastly: I reviewed it in my last post but I got a trivia I wasn’t able to share, Beauty in the Beast‘s earliest variant is the famous Greek Myth, Cupid and Psyche, can’t relate eh? According to Alex Flinn, in the last part of her book, if you had read Cupid and Psyche, Cupid is a monster and can only be seen at night and Psyche did something for her to be with Cupid. Maybe that’s why Belle is such a tough chic. Just read it to relate to it.

A kiss in time: A modern Sleeping beauty has an unimaginable story, really, so far away from Disney’s version, but if you are a Filipino and you know Grazilda, that story reminds me of this. Its funny how a princess lives in a 17^th century era will be taught to live in the 21^st, it’s really cool, but I still love Beastly. Is it obvious that it’s my favorite?

Alex Flinn: I just read two books of her, and I’m thinking of reading the others, but I observed that she likes to make her main characters have issue with their parents, well maybe because most children in our time really have. But maybe she wants the readers not just to be flown away by love with these teen flicks but also to learn something about how to open up and understand our dear parents. Like I should do, I guess.

Well this Sunday is not just an ordinary Sunday, it’s Easter! Another year for a new beginning, this is an important holiday than Christmas for the Catholics, coz it’s Muling Pagkabuhay/Pasko ng Pagkabuhay ni Hesus, in english Easter, nah kidding I’m not sure how to translate it but it’s the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Happy Easter!

Beastly

I made an artwork base on what I read yesterday. Beastly by Alex Flinn. A modern "Beauty and the Beast", one of the classic Disney movies and one of my favorites. 

Actually I found about this novel when I saw the trailer of the movie based on it, also entitled Beastly. Coming soon on theaters? Or already out I think.

A must watched for the Beauty and the Beast fans out there, like me. :)  And the book, it has a lot of twists that you wouldn't realized then realized that it was really the modern Beauty and the Beast. Love how the guy(Kyle/Adrian) suddenly fall for the girl that he refer to as one of the scums in their school. It gives my heart a bump even thought it's just like another teen flick. :)

Oh well, in love nothing is impossible, any one could fall in love and everyone could be loved.

Organic Architecture and Modern houses

I was searching for some inspirations on our ARCH55(Tropical design) subject, and I found this book entitled "Modern House" by John Welsh. My target is to find a residential house that is interesting, unique and truly modern and as I skim the book I found this interesting house, called the Price house designed by Bart Prince.

 

    

  

And as I read the content about this house and Prince I realized the house is one type of Organic Architecture and also Prince is a student of Bruce Goff, whom a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. That's why I wouldn't wonder when I read it on how amazing Prince is.

The house is made from wooden shingles on some outer and inner walls. With unique form and shape and has floor levels that are protruding towards a nearby sea, giving each level a view of the ocean.


Also I read that Organic Architecture is an updated interpretation of vernacular. With two stated aims:

• A counterweight to the neglect of context by pure white modernists.
• Individualism opposed to the sometimes anonymous geometry of the Miesian Pavilion.

I also scanned another book about modern residential spaces entitled "Infill: New Houses for Urban sites" by Adam Mornement and Annabel Biles. Interesting houses specially those that can be found in Japan.
